Torus
A great deal of information is captured in the torus!
At its simplest level it is essentially a pie chart.
-
The proportion of the circle taken up by the red segment indicates the Analysis % of that node.
A node which contains no analysis records will be completely blue.
A node which contains all analysis records will be completely red.
A node which has an Analysis % of 25% will be one quarter red.
-
The girth of the torus represents how many of the people in the root node are contained within this node (i.e. the % of base).
The root node will have a completely full torus, since it contains all the records.
The leaf nodes will have a much finer torus, since they only contain some of the base records
Node examples¶
The root node is a full torus since it contains all the records. The red band is narrow, representing the 2% of people in the analysis selection.
The left node (on the organic tree) contains the majority of people from the base selection (it is a wide torus), but has a narrower red band indicating the lower proportion of people in the analysis selection (Analysis % = 1%).
The right node (on the organic tree) contains relatively few people (narrow torus), but a higher proportion are in the analysis selection (wider red band).
