Report
The reporting tool allows you to create reports based around the results of other tools such as Selections, Cubes, Trees, Venns etc. The main feature of the Report is the ability to maintain a dynamic link between the report display and the tool within FastStats. This allows the report to be updated at the click of a button when the database has been refreshed.
The transfer to (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the copy and paste facility help you to also create reports manually but can not hold the dynamic link function described above.
The Report window initially displays as a grid split into a Header, Main Body and Footer. Buttons at the bottom left of the screen allow you to insert text and picture boxes as well as date and page type information. Items that you have generated can be dragged directly onto the body of the report as shown with the cube in the screen shot above. You can output the report as a PDF or Word 2003 or above document.
Change settings¶
To change the settings of the page setup and for the individual tool being displayed click on the appropriate tab on the Report window.
The Text, Margin and Paper settings can all be set from this page. A drop zone is also available to allow you to apply a selection, the result of which will be reflected in all the objects through out the report.
Dependent upon which tool is being displayed will determine the setting options available. Perhaps one of the most useful Formatting Settings is the Fit to option that allows you to display the item on a determined number of pages.
