Data Grid

You can open a data grid directly from the modelling environment. The grid is populated with the same dimensions used within the modelling environment and allows you to extend your investigation into the use of each dimension or behavioural feature and understand the data in more detail.

  1. Open a new Modelling Environment window.
  2. Add an Analysis and Base selection.

    Note

If you intend to use Behavioural Features in your investigation, your selections must contain date rules and you should set an appropriate Training Date.

  3. Add some Dimensions – Income and Occupation

  4. Right click to add Behavioural Features and select Count(Bookings) using…
  5. Select Booking Date.

  6. Right click on that Behavioural Feature and choose to Generate different units of date period.

  7. Build the Modelling Environment.

    Note

The data grid does not require you to build the modelling environment. However, it is likely you will build the modelling environment and explore the dimensions as part of your investigation, as well as using the data grid.

    From within the Modelling Environment:

  8. Click the Data Grid icon.

  9. Build the data grid to view the results.

Note

By default, the data grid returns 1000 records, split across the analysis group according to your specified proportions. If no proportions have been specified, the split will be 50/50.

Data grid options

You can use a data grid to show the detail behind your selections. The options for displaying data relating to the dimensions allow:

  • Features which are calculations of other features to display these too.

  • Transaction level variables used in any aggregation feature.

From the 2026 Q2 release onwards, you can also:

  • Specify how many records to display for the Analysis or Non-Analysis groups.
  • Automatically extract and display any variable used in the event criteria.
  • Set the level of the data grid to one of the transaction tables (or leave at the Person level).
  • Add a transaction filter to limit records to before the reference date.

Note

Launching a data grid directly from the Selections tab adds columns from the selection without the need to add dimensions first.
