Import 2001 UK census data

Apteco Ltd supply data from the 2001 Census in a format ready to link to an existing FastStats system. This data can be downloaded from the Apteco Download forum. An agreement has to be signed and sent to Apteco so that we can keep a record of who the data has been supplied to.

Setting up the census data import¶

Once you have downloaded the data and sent off the license agreement then:

1. Extract the data into a directory on the FastStats Designer machine
2. Add a Census post-load action
3. Set the Census Data Directory to the above directory
4. Check the boxes for the data you wish to include
5. The data is joined to a post code text variable, so choose the post code text variable from your FastStats system you wish to relate the census data to
