The Application Settings page will only be visible if you have admin permissions.

The Dashboard Themes page view lets you control how different interface elements look for each dashboard. Orbit includes built-in System Themes and you can change which theme is used as the default theme when creating a dashboard.

You can create Custom Themes if necessary and set one of those as the default theme.

Creating a theme

You can create a theme if you want to use a different look than the default design for interface elements or conform to your company brand colours.

To create a theme:

  1. On the left side of the interface, click the Add Item Icon button
  2. Enter a Theme Name

  3. Set the colour settings for Visualisations and Fonts and click Save Draft

  4. You can enter a hex value directly for each element or click the colour icon to open the colour picker

    In the preview area, you can see how each element looks.

Multiple colours

More than one visualisation colour can be applied to a dashboard theme.

These help differentiate the categories on a dashboard.

  • Click the + sign to select additional colours

You will need to experiment with the choice of colours to ensure the Highlight colour stands out

Theme fonts

You can change the font used for the following Tile elements on a Custom Theme:

  • Clicking Save Draft or Publish will apply any changes

The theme is in [DRAFT] mode until you click Publish to make the theme available.

You can apply a logo to a theme, first upload the logo then from the Dashboard Themes page select the logo to use.

  • Expand the Logo section and click the Choose logo button to select a logo

Setting a default theme

  • Select the theme from the theme selector panel Theme Selector Panel

  • The current default theme is indicated by a check mark

  • The number indicates how many dashboards use the theme
  • Click on Set Default in the ellipsis menu

You can only set a published theme as the default theme

Orbit will display a confirmation prompt showing how many dashboards will be affected by this action

Duplicating a theme

You might want to duplicate an existing theme if you want to create a new one that will have some of the same settings.

  • Select the theme from the theme selector panel

  • Click on Duplicate in the ellipsis menu

  • Enter a Theme Name and click Save Draft or Publish

Deleting a theme

If you no longer need a theme that you created, you can delete it.

  • Select the theme from the theme selector panel
  • Click on the delete Delete Icon icon in the ellipsis menu
