Meta token generation

For Apteco to be able to connect to Meta, including WhatsApp, Orbit needs to generate Meta tokens.

Orbit API Configurator

If using the Apteco Meta API App and the system has Orbit configured, you can generate the Meta tokens through Orbit.

To configure the Orbit API Configurator:

  1. In the API tab, click Open API Configurator.

  2. Under the General tab, use Orbit options to check that the Facebook Token Generation Base URL is populated with https://tokens-service.integrations.apteco.com.

  3. Under the Dataview system tab, use the Facebook Tokens service to make sure that:

    • Use Facebook tokens is checked
    • Base URL is populated with https://tokens-service.integrations.apteco.com
    • Auto register apps and pages is checked

  4. Click Save.

Generating Meta tokens in Orbit

  1. Click the Profile icon, then click Account settings.

  2. Click the Meta (Facebook & WhatsApp) tab.

    If Facebook has already been configured, click Update to add WhatsApp. If Facebook has not been previously set up, click Continue with Meta to connect to Meta, including WhatsApp.

  3. If you have previously linked Apteco to Meta, click Edit previous settings. If you have not previously linked Apteco and Meta, sign in to Meta and then click Edit previous settings.

  4. Select the Meta businesses you want to connect to Apteco, then click Continue.
  5. If you already have Facebook Pages connected, leave these checked. If you wish to add Facebook Pages, you can do so now. Click Continue.
  6. Select the WhatsApp Business accounts to be used by Apteco, then click Continue.
  7. Review the permissions to grant to Apteco. Click Save.

  8. You should now receive the message confirming that Apteco is now linked to Facebook (Meta). Click Got It.
