Edit dimension categories

Edit categories displayed

It is possible to edit the categories displayed on a Cube dimension in various ways. To access the options:

  • Create a Person level Cube and drag Occupation on as a vertical dimension

  • Build and then right click on People and Sort Descending

  • Right click on the Occupation dimension and select Edit Categories Displayed...

In the window that opens, the default is to Show all categories but there are 3 further options to select from:

Top N Categories - e.g. Display the Top 3 categories for Occupation

Top N Categories dialog with the number of categories set to 3

Minimum Count for Category - e.g. Only display cells with at least 70,000 records

Minimum Count for Category dialog with the minimum count set to 70000

Percentage of Maximum Value - e.g. only display categories which are at least 20% of the largest category value

Percentage of Maximum Value dialog with the percentage set to 20

Note

All other values are grouped into the Unclassified category.
