Interpreting the dimension view

The Dimensions tab view provides a variety of information about each of the dimensions you add, assessing how predictive and diverse those dimensions are and, therefore, informing your decisions on which ones to use. Mean PWE, Insight PWE and Incremental Insight are of particular relevance.

These columns do not necessarily form part of the default display, but you can choose to add them. In the Dimensions view:

  1. Right click on any column header and select Column Chooser.

  2. Select Incremental Insight and Mean PWE.

  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Build on the modelling environment and, in the Build Dimensions Options dialogue, ensure you select to build Incremental Insight results.

Insight PWE finds highly predictive niche features that may be missed by mean PWE.

To calculate Insight PWE, all the categories that offer no insight are removed. The PWE for those categories offering insight is calculated, weighted by the number of people, and an average is then taken.

Incremental insight is a single metric to choose dimensions that are predictive and diverse

  • Predictive distinguishes good / bad prospects from average.
  • Diverse finds multiple unrelated ways of identifying prospects.
