Change colours

The colours in a chart are qualitative by design, with each colour being distinct from the next. From the November 2014 software release onwards, it is possible to override and customise these default colours.

Customising chart colours¶

Once the initial chart has been built, click on the category/colour within the Legend panel of the display and select from the colour palette which opens. If an appropriate colour is not present, click on the More Colours button to access further options.

Click on Colours in Legend to access Colour Palette

For example, to customise the Retired category of Occupation to be indicated by a grey colour – select the colour and Close the window:

The selected colour is applied and saved and will be used to indicate this category within the Charting tool until such time as a user chooses to amend it further.
